Product Uploading
The Data Uploader will allow you to rapidly add, delete and modify your product database. We recommend using the Comma Seperated Value (CSV) download. You can open this format in Microsoft Excel, OpenOffice and Corel.
Inserting Data
To insert new products all you have to do is leave the id field empty. The system will automatically assign a new id to your product.
Updating Data
Once you have downloaded your data, all you have to do is make the changes you wish and then upload the data again.
Deleting Data
To delete a product all you have to do is place 'DEL' in the sku field then upload your data.
Although this feature can enable you to quickly populate your product database it also enables you to destroy your data just as rapidily. We recommend using these steps.
- Download your data
- Save your data to your desktop
- Create a backup of the data you just created in case something breaks
- Open up the Data Uploader and begin to upload
- Success
In the case that you forget to make a backup and somehow break something, we charge a fee for restoring a database. We also do not guarentee that we can restore your database to it's orginal state.
Here are a few caveats
- You must follow the steps on uploading the 'Product Category List' if you have updated any data
- If you have sorted your products in their categories, the sorting will be lost
